Ryan O'Keefe - TAC Head Coach

O'Keefe was originally drafted from Calder Cannons in 1999 after a stellar season that earned him a spot in the TAC Cups Team Of The Year. Sydney selected O'Keefe with pick 56 in the same year, slowly but surely he developed into an elite midfielder. In 2005 O'Keefe became a premiership player for the first time when the Swans defeated the West Coast Eagles in a Grand Final thriller. That win broke a 72-year drought for the Swans as they hadn't won a Grand Final since 1933. The Swans faced off against the Eagles again in 2006. O'Keefe was awarded All-Australian that year but the Swans would fall short to the Eagles this time. Seven years later O'Keefe and Sydney returned to claim another premiership victory in 2012. This time, however, O'Keefe was awarded the Norm Smith medal after a decisive performance against Hawthorn. Aside from football O'Keefe also participated in the International Rules test series from 2005-2006. He claimed the Jim Stynes award in his last test series.

In 2014 O'Keefe hung up the boots to pursue a coaching career at Adelaide. For two years O'Keefe was in charge of midfield development for the Crows until he was appointed coach of Adelaide's SANFL (South Australian National Football League) team in November 2016. O'Keefe would coach Adelaide for two seasons but sought new opportunities at the end of 2018. Now in 2019 O'Keefe has replaced Torin Baker as the new head coach of the Western Jets. O'Keefe's 15 years of experience as an AFL player will bring a new culture to the Jets.

Tom Perrett - TAC Assistant Coach

Tom commenced his playing days for the Bacchus Marsh Football Club in the Ballarat Football League. He played his junior football at the Club from 1993 - 1999 and continued on as a senior player from 2000 - 2004. Tom had a stint at the Western Jets from 1998 - 2000 in the TAC Cup Competition. In 2005 Tom moved from the Ballarat Football League to the Bellarine Football League playing for Torquay for two seasons in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 Tom played in a senior premiership for the Torquay Football Club. In 2007 he moved to East Geelong and played in the Geelong & District Football League for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. In 2009 Tom played a season with the Old Westbourne Grammarians in the VAFA before moving back to East Geelong for his final two seasons of his playing career for East Geelong in 2010 and 2011.

In Tom's final year of playing in 2011 he combined those duties with also being Assistant Coach and Chairman of Selectors at East Geelong. In 2012 Tom made the transition into Senior Coach of the Club as they finished runners up. In 2013 he moved to Newton & Chilwell Football Club in the Geelong Football League where he was the Senior Assistant Coach. From their Tom joined the Western Jets in 2014 as the Opposition Analyst and Forward Scout before in 2015 bcoming an Assistant Coach looking after the Western Jets Backline. In 2016, 2018 and 2019 Tom was the Midfield Coach, and in 2017 Tom looked after the Forwards.

Since 2017 Tom combined his role as an Assistant Coach at the Western Jets with being the U/16 Vic Metro Assistant Coach.

Adrian Pilgrim - TAC Assistant Coach

Adrian, joined the Western Jets at the end of 2017 as Development Coach/Midfield Assistant Coach.

He went through the North Ballarat Rebels Development squads before joining the Northern Bullants in the VFL. He progressed into the coaching ranks with the Horsham Saints in the Wimmera Football league as an assistant, with another stint with Avoca FC in the Maryborough Castlemaine League.

Adrian became the senior coach of Avoca in 2012 for threee seasons, before taking on the Tatyoon FC role in the Miniera FL, winning the premiership in first season at the helm in 2016. In 2017 he combined his role as an assistant coach of the Mininera FL in the Victorian Country Championships.

In season 2019 Adrian will move into a line role, looking after our Defence.

Mark Hounslow - TAC Assistant Coach

Hounslow played junior and senior football at Heidelberg in the northern football league until the end of 1996. At the age of 17, he played for Box Hill in the old VFA in 1994. In 1997, Hounslow traveled interstate to play for Southport in the QAFL for three years. He departed from Southport in 2001 and played for Labrador where he was awarded the role of Vice Captain. Hounslow moved back to Victoria in 2003 but chose a country competition to play in with the Western Border League. He played for Heywood at this time where he was a league representative.

From 2004-2007 Hounslow returned to Queensland. This time he played for Port Douglas in the CFL (Cairns Football League) where he became a premiership player in 2005 and a league representative. With his achievements seemingly complete up north, Hounslow traveled back to Victoria and settled in Ocean Grove. He played for Hamilton Imperials in the Western Border League in 2008 where his team just fell short of a flag. A year later Hounslow played in a league closer to home with the Bellarine League.

In 2011 Hounslow began a new career in coaching. He was a Senior Assistant Coach at Grovedale FC until 2014 where he joined Geelong West FC from 2015-2017 as midfield and Senior Assistant Coach. Hounslow also coached at Geelong College for 2016-2017. In 2018 he joined Newtown &Chilwell FC as development and forwards coach in the Geelong Football League. For 2019 Hounslow will play the part of Assistant Coach of the forward line for the Jets. With his experience, the tall timber and goal sneaks are in good hands.

Sam Woods - TAC Development Coach

Woods is an old son of Western Jets who began his football career here 15 years ago. Woods began playing for the Jets from 2005-2008. He juggled his responsibilities in 2007 where he was captain of the Christian Brothers College FC. After his journey in the under 18’s competition ended, he moved on to play in the WRFL (Western Region Football League) for the Spotswood FC. In Woods’ first year Spotswood won the premiership in the 2009 season. He continued to play for Spotswood for seven more years but also sought opportunities interstate. In the AFL London season of 2013/2014, Woods played for the West London FC. After one season of AFL London, he returned back to Australia. Woods finished his playing career in 2016 for Spotswood and moved onto a different career path.

Woods had previously coached during his playing days and saw a future in football beyond the field. He was a former PE teacher and VET AFL Assistant Coach for Essendon Keilor as well as a Personal Trainer for New Level Health Management in Yarraville. In 2017 Woods was selected as the Senior Assistant Coach of the Caroline Catholic College in Braybrook. Woods also served as the Head of Health & Physical education at this time. Now Woods has returned home to where it all started. He will serve as a Development Coach this year for the Western Jets.

Stuart Rankin - TAC Development Coach

Rankin played all of his junior football in Shepparton before playing senior football at Wunghnu in the Picola League. Rankin also played American Football for 5 years and was selected to the Victorian State Team. In addition to that, he has also had a long and successful career playing First Eleven Cricket for Old Carey Cricket Club in the ECA.

Along with his playing experience, Rankin also has extensive experience in coaching at both Senior and Junior levels. As head coach of the Old Carey Cricket Club, he took all 3 teams to the finals. He coached Werribee Cricket Club U17A’s to a grand final in 2017. Rankin also coached the Werribee Districts Junior Football Club in the same year where the U15A’s made the grand final with Rankin as Assistant Coach. Since 2017 Rankin has been apart of the Western Jets but now he's in charge of the athletic development while he completes his AFL Level 2 Coaching accreditation.

Dom Corsino - TAC Development Coach

In his youth, Corsino played football for the St Bernards football club. He quickly moved onto EDFL where he played for Airport West and Mooney Ponds at senior level. In 1996 Corsino moved into an assistant coaching role starting with Airport West, then Keilor Park, followed by Aberfeldie. Aberfeldie saw two premierships (2009, 2012) in Corsino’s time before he headed onto a new role at the end of 2012.

He returned to Airport West, this time as their Head of Football. Corsino introduced the football academy during this time while still managing his responsibilities to Airport West. His role ended in 2015 where he moved to become the Head Coach for the EDFL interleague for the under 14’s. In 2018 he returned home to St Bernards as a coach of the Aus Kick program which ended the same year. Now at the Jets, Corsino will play the part of Strategy and Opposition Analysis as we head into the 2019 season.

Mark Greenshields - U/16 Head Coach

Mark was a Melton junior who in the mid 1990’s came through a similar pathway to our current players – firstly our Western Jets under 15 and 16 Development Squads, before playing TAC Cup Football and onto Williamstown (VFL).

Mark returned to senior local football at Melton (BFL) before joining Albion (WRFL) in 2000.Mark commenced coaching senior football at Melton Centrals (RDFL) in 2007 (2007-09, 2011) during which time he was also RDFL Intra-league (2008) and Inter-League (2009) Assistant Coach. Mark then returned to Albion as Senior Coach for the 2012 & ‘13 seasons. In 2014/15 Mark again returned to Melton (BFL) in various playing and coaching roles.

Mark has looked after the forwards and midfield since being at the club.

In season 2019 Mark accepted the club's offer to take on the U/16 Head Coaching position where he will develop the 15 and 16 year old in the region.

*Mark also currently coaches Melton Junior Football Club (RDFL) U/10’s where his two sons play.

Zachary Read - TAC Girls Head Coach

Read has been involved with the game of football for 20 years as a player, coach, and administrator. For 10 years he played with the Williamstown FC in the VAFA (Victorian Amateur Football Association) which started in 2009 and ended in 2019. However, Read was very busy at this time taking on multiple roles at different clubs. He was Regional Community Coordinator at North Melbourne Football Club from 2013-2016 as well as Assistant Coach for Williamstown U19s from 2014-2016.

In 2017, Read completed his AFL Victoria Level 2 Senior &Youth Girls Coaching Corse which led him to the position of Senior Assistant Coach for the Western Jets. Last year Read was coaching the boys’ midfield, this year he is taking responsibility as Head Coach of the U18 Girls division. The girls have had two poor seasons in a row for the Jets, but perhaps Read can steer the ship in the right direction for the 2019 season.
